Day 3 : Floriade 2012
Today we take you to Venlo in Holland for the Floriade 2012 exhibition. Blooms from all over the world create a dazzling display at this event which only takes place every 10 years.
There are hundreds of exhibitors and five themed zones, spread over 66 hectares, showcasing some of the world’s most spectacular flowers, plants and trees as well as a huge variety of fruit and vegetables.
Floriade 2012 also offers a varied cultural programme of music, dance, theatre, literature and visual art from all over the globe.
The event is organised into five zones including the Relax and Heal zone following the theme of ‘organic shapes’. There are no straight lines here, fluid paths and grassy hillocks help to create a harmonious landscape where you will feel tranquil and serene. Other zones include the Green Engine zone with industrial designs, machines and motorsdemonstrating the enormous resilience of nature. The Education and Innovation zone is designed to constantly present a different perspective, while greenery in cities and the creatures it attracts are highlighted in the Environment zone. You may also enjoy connecting with other event visitors in the World Show Stage zone, where water plays a vital role - water being the shared source of all life on earth.
Day 4 : Brussels/UK
