Itinerary
Day 1 - By train to Delft
We leave St Pancras International by Eurostar to Brussels, where we change trains and travel across the Dutch border to Rotterdam. The final leg of today's journeys takes us to the town of Delft, one of the prettiest towns in the Netherlands, famous for its pottery. Tree-lined canals and cobbled streets wind away from Markt, Delft's large, open central square. We transfer to the Johannes Vermeer Hotel, named after the famous artist who spent his life in Delft. On the quieter streets and canals, you get an impression of the original town that inspired Vermeer's lifetime of work. (D)
Day 2 - Delft Porcelain and Keukenhof Gardens
This morning we enjoy a tour of the Royal Delft porcelain factory, which produces the famous 'Delft Blue'. During the tour we see a painting demonstration and visit the factory museum. This afternoon we enjoy an excursion to the famous Keukenhof Gardens, where we enjoy the fantastic floral displays. The gardens only open in the spring, providing an incredible seasonal display of tulips, crocuses, daffodils and a other flowering plants. Keukenhof also has beautiful tranquil ponds, sculpture gardens, greenhouses, a windmill, and has several cafés and terraces to relax in. (B)
Day 3 - Amsterdam
Today's excursion takes us by rail to Amsterdam for a guided walking tour of the charming city. During the tour to continue exploring at leisure. Amsterdam is home to some fascinating museums, such as the Rijksmuseum, Rembrandt House, the Anne Frank House and Van Gogh Museum. (B)
Day 4 - Floriade 2012
Fantastic Floriade is the World Horticultural Expo, which takes place every 10 years and will be held in the Dutch town of Venlo in 2012. Floriade is a feast of the world's most exceptional, exciting and exquisite flowers, plants and trees. Gardens and displays from all over the world feature at the world's biggest and most celebrated horticultural exhibition. We spend a full day at the show before returning to Delft for dinner in the hotel. (B,D)
Day 5 - By train to London
We transfer to Delft station for our return journey via Rotterdam to Brussels and London. (B)

Johannes Vermeer Hotel, Delft
The family run 3-star Johannes Vermeer Hotel is located on a pretty canal in the historical centre of Delft. Hotel facilities include a bar, brasserie, terrace and private garden. The recently redecorated rooms include air conditioning, TV, minibar, free internet access, a clock-radio and a hairdryer.
Trains
Eurostar
The high speed Eurostar trains link St Pancras International in London with Paris and Lille in France as well as Brussels in Belgium.
