Day 1: London to Cologne
We depart from St Pancras International by Eurostar to Brussels. Our journey then continues to Cologne, where we board MS Tranquility. Settle into your cabin and enjoy dinner on board as the ship sets sail upstream towards Koblenz.
Day 2: Cochem Christmas Market
After cruising along the picturesque Moselle Valley this morning, we head on shore after lunch to enjoy Cochem's delightful Christmas Market. A stroll through the market reveals enchanting sights and smells such as baked apples, roasted nuts, mulled wine and gingerbread. This idyllic wine town with pleasant narrow streets and intricate half-timbered houses sits beneath an imposing castle. We remain moored in Cochem as darkness falls and we enjoy dinner on board in this charming location.
Day 3: Koblenz, the Rhine Gorge and Rüdesheim
This morning we continue back along the Moselle, arriving in Koblenz. Marking the north end of the Rhine Gorge, Koblenz is a picturesque port town that sits where the Moselle and Rhine meet. Featuring several medieval churches and a quaint Old Town, Koblenz is a classic Rhineland town. After cruising the Rhine Gorge this afternoon, with hilltop castles keeping a watchful eye on the rows of precious vines and unspoilt riverside villages below, we arrive in Rüdesheim in the early evening. You are free to explore pretty Rüdesheim and its 'Christmas Market of Nations', where more than 120 stalls represent 12 nations, their specialities and traditions. Along the Drosselgasse and in the Old Town, shops and stalls offer a variety of produce, and the town's winemakers open their cellars to serve wine and other winter treats. We spend the whole evening in Rüdesheim, allowing you to experience the Advent atmosphere and the lights of the 'Christmas Market of Nations'.
Day 4: To Brussels and London
We arrive in Cologne in the morning. We disembark MS Tranquility, and leave Cologne by train for Brussels. Here we join the Eurostar service to St Pancras
International.
